Madonna, 65, has reportedly split from her boxer boyfriend Josh Popper, 30, after a year together. The iconic singer was introduced to the athlete when he started giving boxing lessons to her 18-year-old son David Banda. However, their relationship faced strain after they went public and Madonna embarked on her recently concluded Celebration World Tour. The singer, along with her family, has spent the past seven months traveling the world, rehearsing, and performing for her devoted fans. According to The U.S. Sun, Madonna has informed her friends that she is once again single.
A source revealed, “Madonna has barely seen Josh for months due to her hectic schedule. Things just fizzled out.” However, the source also assured that there is no animosity between them and they still have affection for each other. “At the moment, their relationship doesn’t seem feasible and they have decided to cool things off, but they are remaining friends.”
Josh was a supportive presence for Madonna when she suffered a bacterial infection that led to the postponement of her tour. In March 2023, she cheered him on during a boxing match in a Brooklyn gym. Madonna also introduced him to the audience during her concert, where he appeared in the visuals while she performed Erotica and joined her on stage in New York.
Madonna has always been open about her unconventional lifestyle and relationships. She said, “People are becoming more and more accepting of unconventional lifestyles, unconventional relationships, marriages, families. I fit into that category. I have six children, four of them are adopted, and I’m not married. I continue to defy convention in terms of having an unconventional family.”
