Les Dennis Takes Swipe at Ex-Wife Amanda Holden Over Affair

In a recent interview on Christopher Biggins’ podcast Show And Tell, Les Dennis, 70, made a sly dig at his ex-wife Amanda Holden, 53, as he discussed his memories of working with the late Mickey Rooney. Les revealed that Rooney would get upset whenever Frank Sinatra’s ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ played on the radio, due to Sinatra’s relationship with Rooney’s first wife, Ava Gardner. Les then jokingly compared this situation to having to listen to Bob The Builder every night, referencing Amanda’s former partner Neil Morrissey, who famously voiced the children’s character for 14 years and even recorded two number-one singles as the fictional tradesman.

The affair between Amanda and Neil caused a temporary split between Amanda and Les back in 2000. The couple eventually separated again two years later and their divorce was finalized in 2003. Amanda has previously admitted that the affair led to a “very dark time” in her life and that Les was her “saviour” during that period. Neil, now 61, publicly addressed the affair in 2014 and expressed his remorse for how the situation played out.

Despite the past drama, Les seems to have found a way to poke fun at the situation, showing that he has moved on. The couple’s relationship may have ended, but it seems that Les is able to look back with a sense of humor.

In a recent interview with Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Les Denns opened up about his regrets and expressed sympathy for his ex-wife, Amanda Holden. Denns stated, “I feel sorry for how the situation was dealt with and I feel sorry for how emotional Les seemed to become. It was very difficult for him and for that I’m very sorry.”

Since their split in the early 2000s, both Les and Amanda have moved on and found love again. Les married Claire Nicholson in 2009, and the couple now has two children together. Meanwhile, Amanda tied the knot with record producer Chris in Los Angeles in 2008. They also have two children and currently reside in Surrey.

Fans of Les Denns will have the opportunity to see him on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh this Sunday at 9.30am. Don’t miss out on this exciting interview!
