Kourtney Kardashian Reveals “Traumatic” Emergency Surgery During Pregnancy
In a shocking revelation, Kourtney Kardashian opened up about the “trauma” she experienced during an emergency fetal surgery. The reality star shared the details on the Season 5 premiere of “The Kardashians,” which was filmed when she was 31 weeks pregnant.
During the episode, Kardashian explained that they had planned a scan at home so that their children could see the baby. However, during the scan, a high-risk doctor noticed something concerning. This led Kardashian to see specialists and ultimately undergo a terrifying surgery.
Although she didn’t elaborate on the specific issue, Kardashian emphasized that it was a “super rare thing” and not related to her age or anything she had done wrong. Because the surgery was performed in utero, Kardashian was placed on strict bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy.
Describing the aftermath of the surgery, Kardashian revealed, “There’s a hole in the amniotic sac from where they had to go in. I’m not allowed to drive. I’m not allowed to stand for more than 20 minutes. I’m really not leaving the house.”
During this challenging time, Kardashian’s husband, Travis Barker, showed unwavering support. He even cut short his European tour to be by her side. However, due to a broken WiFi connection on the plane, Barker was unable to receive updates about Kardashian’s condition.
Kardashian expressed her gratitude for the support she received from her followers after sharing her experience on Instagram. She acknowledged that many people feel uncomfortable discussing such matters, fearing judgment or blame.
In November 2023, Kardashian and Barker welcomed their baby boy, Rocky, into the world. Kardashian is also a mother to three other children from her previous relationship with Scott Disick, while Barker has two children from his previous marriage.
