Jessica Gunning, star of Baby Reindeer, has responded to Piers Morgan’s controversial interview with Fiona Harvey, who claims to be the inspiration behind the character of Martha in the hit Netflix series. In his YouTube series Uncensored, Morgan secured the first televised interview with Harvey, much to the dismay of Gunning. She refuses to watch the interview, citing her concern for co-star Richard Gadd, who based the series on his own experience with a stalker. Gunning believes that searching for the real people behind the characters undermines the important message of the show. Despite Gadd’s plea for viewers not to track down the real individuals, internet sleuths quickly spread Harvey’s tweets and she decided to share her side of the story on Morgan’s channel.

Gunning expressed her worry for Gadd, who is a survivor of sexual assault and was stalked. She believes that any attempt to uncover the identities of the real people behind the characters undermines the seriousness of the issue. Gadd intentionally changed the identities of the characters for a reason, but with the show’s popularity, it is inevitable that people are curious about the true identities.

Fiona Harvey, who had the tell-all interview with Piers Morgan, felt “set up” by the presenter. Critics have labeled the interview as “exploitative.”

Jessica Gunning, known for her role in Baby Reindeer, has come forward to defend the show against recent accusations. In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Gunning addressed claims that the show is a work of fiction and exaggerated. She vehemently denied being a stalker or having any criminal record. Gunning expressed feeling betrayed and claimed she was only paid £250 for the interview. Despite the controversy, the interview has gained massive attention, amassing 12 million views on the Uncensored YouTube channel.

Morgan, in response to the interview, defended Gunning’s right to speak out. He stated that he tried to approach the interview with fairness and balance, seeking the truth. However, he also questioned the validity of Gunning’s claims. If she is not a convicted stalker, then the Netflix series, which claims to be based on a true story, could be facing legal trouble. Accusing someone of such a serious crime without evidence is a defamatory act. Gunning is determined to take legal action against Netflix and Richard Gadd, the creator of Baby Reindeer.
