Bay Of Fires star Marta Dusseldorp has given an exciting update on the second series of the hit crime drama. The show, set in rural Tasmania, follows the story of Marta’s character, corporate CEO Stella Heikkinen, who moves to a remote part of the country called Mystery Bay with her young family. However, they quickly discover the high levels of crime in the area and how isolated they truly are. Marta spoke exclusively to Marta about the upcoming season, revealing that they have partnered with Fremantle Australia and are thrilled to be able to bring another season to the viewers. She also mentioned that they are in talks with other networks for future projects, which gives them confidence in building new stories. The Australian actress and producer also shared that they have nearly completed the first four scripts for the second season and teased that there will be new characters and a significant number of deaths. When asked how she celebrated the show’s renewal, Marta admitted to having champagne as it was an incredibly exciting moment. The first episode of the new season follows Stella as she narrowly escapes two hitmen with the help of a mysterious woman named Airini. She is then instructed to gather her children and leave town immediately to stay alive. However, she is shocked to discover that her boyfriend is one of the hitmen trying to kill her. Stella meets with Airini, who provides her with a new identity, a burner phone, and three one-way tickets to Mystery Bay, a small town in Tasmania. The family arrives in Mystery Bay, which has been humorously renamed Misery Bay, and finds it to be a strange place with peculiar residents. The eight-episode drama is currently available to watch on ITVX, but there is no confirmed air date for ITV.
