GOOGLEBOX FANS LEFT DISHEARTENED AS SERIES ENDS

Gogglebox fans were left feeling down on Friday night after discovering that the show will not be airing next week, marking the end of the current series. In the latest episode, the familiar faces from the Channel 4 show gathered to watch the week’s latest programmes.

Ahead of the finale, siblings Simon and Jane Minty took to social media to share a video announcing that the current episode would be the last. Sitting in chairs opposite to their usual setup on TV, Simon expressed his sadness, saying, “It’s a bit sad, a bit strange. It’s the last Gogglebox this evening, last one of the series. We do hope you can go to watch it.” Fans quickly took to Twitter to express their disappointment that the show was coming to an end after 15 episodes.

@Swarthflegger wrote, “Watching Gogglebox, but sad it’s the last one.” @jes198276 added, “Nooooo It can’t be the last one already [sic]. I’ll be watching as always.” @ElaineSWriter commented, “Oh no! That’s gone so quickly.” @SueyQP tweeted, “Noooo! I hate it when a season finishes. Friday nights won’t be the same. (I may have to go out!!).”

MatthewPage97 said, “I hate it when it comes to this every year…. I hope September will come around fast – see you later.” @SarahLo48316215 added, “Oh no! That’s gone so quickly. Have a lovely summer.”

During the final episode, the armchair critics shared their honest and frank opinions on popular shows such as Bridgerton, The Piano, and Britain’s Got Talent. They also watched My Strange Addiction: Still Addicted?, Top of the Pops 1984, and a peculiar segment on This Morning about sandwiches.

In one particular moment, Mary and Giles offered viewers a glimpse into their younger years as Giles asked his wife if she had ever worn a traffic cone on her head. Mary replied, “Oh yes, in my early twenties!” Giles continued, “Yes, so have I. Have you ever been pushed along a street in a supermarket trolley?” They both instantly replied, “Yes!”

While the series featured familiar faces like Jenny and Lee, Sophie and Pete, and Giles and Mary, there was also a new addition. In March, Gogglebox introduced Teresa and her wife Anita to the show. The couple, from Solihull, quickly became fan favorites as they entertained viewers with their banter while Anita knitted. Gogglebox can be streamed on Channel 4 On Demand.
