ERYKAH BADU CANCELS HEADLINE PERFORMANCE AT CROSS THE TRACKS FESTIVAL DUE TO ILLNESS

In a devastating turn of events, soul icon Erykah Badu, 53, has cancelled her highly anticipated headline performance at this year’s Cross The Tracks festival. Organizers took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news just hours before fans were set to arrive. Despite sound-checking earlier in the day, Badu’s illness has unfortunately made it impossible for her to take the stage.

“We are utterly devastated to inform you that Erykah Badu will no longer be playing Cross The Tracks 2024,” the statement read. “We have spent the last 18 months working to secure this booking for her fans, her touring party has already arrived in London and has been sound-checking all morning but unfortunately due to illness, Erykah will be unable to make it.”

The organizers expressed their understanding of the disappointment this news brings and thanked fans in advance for their understanding. They also urged attendees to still enjoy the rest of the lineup, which features an impressive roster of 70 incredible acts, including Eve, Madlib, BADBADNOTGOOD, and En Vogue.

“This day isn’t just about one act, it’s about 70 incredible acts, shaping and defining the genres we love globally,” the organizers emphasized. “Please stay tuned to the set times on Woov, as some things will be moving about; En Vogue will be closing out the main stage in all their glory and Freddie Gibbs & Madlib will now appear live on the main stage in addition to Madlib’s previously scheduled DJ set on stage 2.”

Fans took to social media to express their well wishes for Badu and share their disappointment at not being able to see her perform. While some expressed hope for refunds, others urged fellow festival-goers to support the event and enjoy the other talented artists on the lineup.

Despite this setback, Cross The Tracks festival promises to be a true celebration of the brilliance and talent within jazz, funk, and soul.

FANS SHOW SUPPORT FOR SOUL SINGER AFTER LAST-MINUTE REPLACEMENT AT FESTIVAL

Fans of the iconic soul singer have expressed their support and well wishes after it was announced that a last-minute replacement would be performing at the festival. Offkeybeatz commented on the situation, stating that Freddie Gibbs and Madlib are an awesome replacement and even if you’re not into their music, there are plenty of other great artists to check out. They also highlighted the challenges faced by independent festivals in today’s tough climate. Eniz_menendez also shared their excitement for the festival, particularly looking forward to Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s performance.

FEUD BETWEEN SINGER AND BEYONCE REIGNITED

In a recent development, the singer has reignited her feud with Beyonce. Earlier this year, the singer accused Beyonce of copying her signature style in the lead-up to the release of her hit album Cowboy Carter. The feud escalated when the singer shared the limited-edition vinyl cover of Beyonce’s album on her Instagram Stories with a cryptic caption. She later took to Twitter, publicly reaching out to Beyonce’s husband Jay Z, urging him to speak up on the matter.
