Belle Dingle’s “terrifying reality” will be exposed in an upcoming episode of Emmerdale. On Tuesday May 7, ITV will air a special edition of the soap that showcases two different perspectives of the same day.
The episode will feature a dinner party, with one half shown from the viewpoint of Rhona Goskirk and Marlon Dingle at the dinner table, and the other half from the perspective of Belle and Tom in the kitchen.
Before the dinner party, Belle secretly goes to a doctor’s appointment to arrange for her contraceptive prescription. An anxious Belle confides in Manpreet that she doesn’t want the medication delivered to her home like her other medications.
Meanwhile, at work, Tom is belittled by Vanessa when he makes a mistake in diagnosing an elderly dog with cancer without conducting the necessary tests. Vanessa and Paddy arrive just in time to rectify the situation and it turns out the dog actually has an abscess. As the angry customer leaves, Tom plays the victim.
Tom complains that Vanessa makes him feel unwelcome at the practice and then unexpectedly invites the vet staff and their partners to a dinner party. After a terrible day, Tom returns home and informs Belle about the upcoming dinner party at their house.
As Belle prepares for the dinner party, Tom criticizes her outfit and asks her to change into something more suitable. Belle obediently goes upstairs to change.
In the kitchen, Tom makes a discovery, but before he can confront Belle, the guests start to arrive. Later, when Belle goes upstairs, Tom follows her into the bathroom and becomes threatening.

Tom becomes increasingly possessive of Belle in the kitchen, not allowing her out of his sight. When Rhona finally decides to leave after an argument with Marlon, the other guests apologize and follow suit.
Belle desperately wants the guests to stay, but they all make excuses to leave. As the guests depart, viewers witness the terrifying reality of Belle’s life with the menacing Tom.
Eden, who plays Belle, teased that viewers can expect the tension to escalate throughout the episode. She said, “You’ll see how easily Tom can switch on and off and how he truly feels and his anger towards Belle. You’ll get a glimpse into Belle’s terrifying reality.”
