Elizabeth Taylor’s Shocking Revelation: “I Never Loved Eddie Fisher”

In a bombshell revelation, the late Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor has confessed that she never truly loved her fourth husband, Eddie Fisher. The shocking revelation came to light in the HBO documentary, Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The documentary features never-before-heard audio recordings, providing a glimpse into the legendary star’s private life.

Elizabeth’s relationship with Eddie Fisher began in 1958, shortly after the tragic death of her third husband, Mike Todd. However, she now claims that she only felt sorry for Eddie and that their marriage was “one big awful mistake.” In the documentary, she candidly admits, “I don’t remember much about the marriage apart from that it was one big awful frigging mistake – and I knew that before I got married. But I didn’t know how to get out of it.”

The revelations don’t stop there. Elizabeth also alleges that she suffered abuse from Eddie, especially when she met her future husband Richard Burton on the set of Cleopatra in 1960. She recalls Eddie’s disturbing behavior, saying, “Eddie at nighttime would sit up – and he had a gun. Every time I nearly nodded off, he would stroke my arm and say: I’m not going to kill you, I wouldn’t shoot you, you are much too pretty. All night long. Eventually, I ran from the house – I was so scared.”

Elizabeth’s tumultuous love life is well-known, with a total of seven marriages throughout her life. She famously married Richard Burton twice, and it was during her marriage to Eddie that she first met Richard, who was a close friend of Eddie’s. Just 10 days after divorcing Eddie, Elizabeth married Richard in 1964.

The HBO documentary, Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes, provides a rare glimpse into the personal life of the legendary star. It features never-before-heard audio recordings that shed light on her relationships, struggles, and the challenges she faced off-screen. Elizabeth Taylor’s story continues to captivate audiences, even a decade after her passing in 2011.
