CHELSEA MAKE SENSATIONAL MOVE FOR OSIMHEN

In a shocking turn of events, Chelsea have reached out to Napoli in hopes of securing a summer transfer for Victor Osimhen. The Blues have long been admirers of the Nigerian striker, who played a crucial role in Napoli’s title-winning campaign last season.

Napoli, who have struggled this season and find themselves in mid-table, may be open to a deal as Osimhen has expressed his desire to leave this summer. While Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in the 25-year-old, Chelsea plan to compete for his signature.

Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Chelsea have made initial contact with Napoli and are looking to negotiate a fee between €80million and €90million (£68m and £77m). To sweeten the deal, the Blues are prepared to offer Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Roma, and an undisclosed young player.

Lukaku, who joined Chelsea for a then-club record fee in 2021, has had a successful loan spell in Italy, scoring 19 goals in 43 appearances for Roma. However, Chelsea’s striking problems have been well-documented this season, with Cole Palmer accounting for almost a third of their Premier League goals.

Osimhen, who has scored 16 goals for Napoli this season, has expressed his desire to join Chelsea. Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed that Osimhen has his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge and is even hoping to follow in Mikel’s footsteps as a Nigerian player at the club.

While PSG and Manchester United are also interested in Osimhen, Mikel is doing his best to persuade him to choose Chelsea. Mikel has been in contact with Osimhen, urging him not to get his hopes up and to focus on joining the Blues.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea’s offer will be enough to secure Osimhen’s services, but this potential transfer saga is definitely one to keep an eye on.
