Taylor Swift has caused quite a stir with her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” In one of the songs, she name-dropped Charlie Puth, and it seems he has finally responded with a song of his own. Puth took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, describing his new song “HERO” as a heartfelt reflection on seeing someone you love self-destruct. He admitted that it was one of the most challenging songs he has ever written and expressed his excitement about sharing it with his fans. Puth also gave a special shoutout to Swift, thanking her for inspiring him to release the song. He even shared the artwork for the single, which will be available on May 24th. Puth concluded his post by expressing his gratitude to his fans, emphasizing how much they mean to him. As of now, Swift has not publicly responded to Puth’s announcement.

In her album, Swift references Puth in the titular track, declaring that he should be a bigger artist. Puth subtly acknowledged the lyrics by reposting a photo of Swift’s on his Story, where she mentioned the track. While the song is believed to be about her past relationship with Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, Swift also alludes to her other romantic partners. It is speculated that the song “So Long, London” is about Joe Alwyn, while “The Alchemy” and “So High School” are thought to reference her current boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift and Kelce have been dating since last summer.
