Peter Davison, known for his role in Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise, has addressed the possibility of returning to the Caribbean to replace Ralf Little as the lead detective. Ralf, who played DI Neville Parker in the BBC series, left the show last month, leaving fans disappointed.

While the BBC has not revealed who will take over the role, Peter expressed his willingness to take on the challenge. However, he believes that they may opt for someone younger. Fans and bookmakers have been speculating about potential replacements, including David Tennant and Martin Clunes.

Ralf has remained tight-lipped about his thoughts on the matter. During a recent Q&A on Instagram, he admitted that he has no idea which direction the show bosses will go in. He, like the rest of the fans, is eagerly waiting to find out who will be the next lead detective.

In his latest role in the Death in Paradise spin-off, Beyond Paradise, Peter starred alongside Kris Marshall and Barbara Flynn. He played Barbara’s character Anne’s love interest, but his character made a swift exit after Anne discovered that he was married.

When asked about the possibility of his character returning, Peter revealed that it is not up to him. However, he and Barbara have discussed ways to bring him back into the series. He believes that his character deserves a chance to explain his actions and intentions.

Beyond Paradise will return on Friday at 9pm on BBC One.
