ARSENAL’S TRANSFER FOCUS REVEALED AS THEY AIM TO CLOSE GAP TO MAN CITY

In their pursuit of closing the gap to Manchester City, Arsenal’s plans for the summer transfer window have been unveiled. Despite narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to City for two consecutive seasons, manager Mikel Arteta remains confident in his team’s ability to challenge once again in the upcoming campaign.

However, before the start of the 2024-25 season, Arsenal aims to strengthen their squad. While there have been talks of a potential big signing, the latest reports suggest otherwise. Arsenal is not looking to make a significant financial transfer or bring in a marquee player this time around. Instead, their focus will be on spreading the cost and making subtle changes to improve the squad, potentially targeting cheaper players.

Former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas believes that the club needs to recruit a top-class striker to surpass Pep Guardiola’s men. Arsenal legend Ian Wright, on the other hand, suggests that the Gunners require a new right winger, centre-back, and midfielder.

Among their potential targets, Arsenal is eyeing goalkeeper Justin Bijlow as a replacement for the outgoing Aaron Ramsdale. Another name on their shortlist is Joshua Zirkzee, a striker from Bologna. However, they face competition from other clubs in their pursuit of Zirkzee.

Thierry Henry, expressing his concerns, fears that Arsenal might experience a drop-off next season after two grueling campaigns where they fell short against City. He points out that teams often struggle to keep up with City’s pace and eventually falter. Henry hopes that Arsenal can maintain their rhythm and withstand the challenges ahead.
