Mikel Arteta Believes Arsenal Can Still Win Premier League Title

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, remains confident that his team can win the Premier League title, despite Manchester City’s recent victory over Tottenham. The Gunners’ hopes of ending their 20-year wait for the title took a hit when City secured a 2-0 win, giving them a two-point lead at the top of the table with only one game remaining.

City’s final match is against a struggling West Ham team, who have conceded a staggering 43 goals away from home this season. Only Luton Town and Sheffield United have conceded more, both having played an additional game. For Arsenal to have a chance at the title, they must defeat Everton and hope that City falters against West Ham. Even a draw for City would be enough for Arsenal to secure the title due to their superior goal difference.

Despite the setback of City’s victory over Tottenham, Arteta remains optimistic about his team’s chances on the final day of the season. He is focused on ensuring that Arsenal does their part by defeating Everton. Arteta expressed his thoughts at the Spanish Embassy, where he was awarded The Royal Order of Isabella the Catholic. He believes that this honor could be a positive sign for his team and hopes that “the magic can happen” on Sunday.

Arteta also spoke to the Spanish media about the title race, saying, “This is the exciting part, fighting for the title until the last day. If we win and they don’t, the Premier League trophy will be waiting at the Emirates with red ribbons on it. It will be the first time since the stadium was built.”

While Arteta is currently happy at Arsenal, he revealed that he sees himself managing in Spain in the future. He has always had a strong connection to his homeland and believes that one day he will return to manage there. However, he emphasized his contentment with Arsenal and his enjoyment of his current job. He concluded by saying, “Someday I suppose it will come, I’m not going to be away for my whole life.”
