ARSENAL AND LIVERPOOL BATTLE FOR FEYENOORD STAR

In a sensational transfer race, Arsenal and Liverpool are set to go head-to-head to secure the signature of Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow this summer. The Gunners, who are on the verge of completing the permanent transfer of David Raya from Brentford, are in need of a backup option in goal with Aaron Ramsdale’s future uncertain. Reports suggest that the North London club has set their sights on Bijlow to provide competition for Raya.

Mikel Arteta’s right-hand man, Albert Stuivenberg, believes that Bijlow is the perfect fit for Arsenal’s current system. However, Liverpool have also expressed interest in the 26-year-old shot-stopper. Bijlow has played under the new Reds boss, Arne Slot, for the past three seasons, and Liverpool scouts have been monitoring his performances closely during Feyenoord’s Champions League matches this season.

The potential arrival of Bijlow at Anfield raises questions about the future of Liverpool’s current backup goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher. With Alisson Becker firmly established as the Reds’ number one, Kelleher is said to be seeking a new challenge. Manchester United were previously linked with Bijlow, but the Dutchman’s price has reportedly dropped significantly since last summer.

Despite a history of injuries, including wrist and calf problems, both Arsenal and Liverpool remain undeterred in their pursuit of Bijlow. The Premier League clubs are aware of the goalkeeper’s injury record but are still keen on bringing him to England. It remains to be seen which club will win the race for the highly-rated Feyenoord star.
