ANNE ROBINSON GIVES AWAY £50 MILLION FORTUNE TO CHILDREN TO AVOID TAXMAN

Legendary TV presenter Anne Robinson, famous for hosting shows like The Weakest Link and Countdown, has reportedly “spread her £50 million fortune” to her children in order to protect it from the taxman upon her death. The 79-year old star, who has accumulated a substantial wealth over the years, is said to have given it all away to her daughter and grandchildren, as revealed by The Daily Mail.

In an interview with Saga Magazine, Anne revealed her decision, stating, “I’ve given it all away. I don’t want the taxman to have it. I’ve spread it about quite a lot, to the children. They may as well enjoy it now.” Anne has one daughter, Emma, from her previous marriage to the late journalist, Charles Wilson. Emma has two children, Hudon, 14, and Parker, 13.

Inheritance tax, which is typically levied at 40% on estates valued over £325,000, can be reduced by individuals by gifting a portion of their wealth to family members while they are still alive. Anne, who currently resides in a Grade-II listed barn in the Cotswolds and owns two properties in New York City, seems to have taken this route to safeguard her fortune.

Despite not being certain of her exact net worth, Anne emphasized that she doesn’t “want for much” and that her main desires are good health and family happiness. Additionally, she recently confirmed her romantic relationship with Andrew Parker-Bowles, who was previously married to Queen Camilla for 20 years until their divorce in 1995.

Anne, who divorced John Penrose in 2007, expressed her thoughts on dating again, stating, “I’d been out of the game for so long. And also I don’t drink. If you don’t drink, you’re not as reckless, are you? I’ve only just thought of that, but I think it’s probably true.” She added, “I’d say, like everything else I’ve done, it’s always worth the risk. I’m a great believer in surprising yourself by taking risks. Personally and professionally. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If the worst that can happen is you get some egg on your face, that’s not terrible, is it?”
