HEARTTHROB PAUL NICHOLAS TRANSFORMS FOR NEW ROLE AFTER JUST GOOD FRIENDS

Remember Paul Nicholas, the heartthrob who stole our hearts in the 80s sitcom Just Good Friends? Well, you won’t believe how different he looks now! The 79-year-old actor, who played hunky Vince Pinner in the beloved show, has taken on a completely new role that will leave you stunned.

Just Good Friends, created by the genius behind Only Fools and Horses, John Sullivan, was a tale of star-crossed lovers. Paul starred alongside Jan Francis, who portrayed Penny Warrender, the woman he left at the altar. But in a surprising turn of events, the two characters reunite five years later and eventually tie the knot in the show’s final episode.

During his heyday, Paul was a real stud with his iconic blonde curls and strong jawline. And even after almost four decades, he’s still gracing the stage, this time in a stage adaptation of the classic sitcom Fawlty Towers.

In this new version of Fawlty Towers, Paul will be taking on the role of the bumbling old Major. He will join a talented cast, including Adam Jackson-Smith as the hot-tempered hotel manager and Anna-Jane Case as his wife Sybil. The show, adapted for the stage by the original Basil Fawlty star John Cleese, is set to begin its run at The West End this month.

Paul has certainly been keeping busy since his Just Good Friends days. He has made appearances in popular TV shows like The Bill, Holby City, and Heartbeat. One of his notable roles was playing the villainous Gavin Sullivan in EastEnders, where he appeared in 31 episodes from 2015 to 2016.

During his time on EastEnders, Gavin caused quite a stir in Walford. He kidnapped Phil Mitchell, entered an abusive relationship with Kathy Hills, and even caused the death of his own sister. In the end, he left the Square in disgrace, but not before threatening to take his own life and that of his daughter Sharon. His character was killed off-screen in 2021, much to the relief of Sharon and his son, Zack Hudson.

Paul Nicholas has certainly had an incredible career, and his latest role in Fawlty Towers proves that he’s still a force to be reckoned with. We can’t wait to see him shine on stage once again!
